Lāsma Kokina is an academic and research analyst in the field of political science. She has gained substantive experience in British academia teaching quantitative political science courses and research methods, having worked at The University of Glasgow, Heriot-Watt University, the University of Essex, and the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR). Currently working as a Lecturer in International Political Economy at the University of Essex, she focuses on the current political and economic developments and their long-term consequences. 

In addition, she produces client reports and carries out due diligence analysis in the private sector, with her past clients including international charities, large organisations, and private individuals. Her past projects involve a variety of fields, including future political risks, policy developments, conflict, and climate change. 

Lasma has an MA in Politics, Security and Integration from UCL, an MSc in International Development and an MRes in Politics from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD in Central and East European Studies from the University of Glasgow. She speaks English, Latvian, German, and Russian.
